Obituary for Lynda Thompson (Gibbs)
Lynda L. Thompson, 70, of Kingsland, Ga. passed unexpectedly on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Baptist Downtown Medical Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. She was surrounded by her surviving children, grandchildren, and other loved ones. She was born February 9, 1953 to the late, Willie Mae Gibbs and Alonza Gibbs, but was reared by Johnnie and Gussie Wooden. She was educated within the Ralph J. Bunche School in Camden County, Ga.
Lynda was preceded in death: by her husband, Eldridge Thompson; her son, LaLonee D Gibbs; her brothers, Ulysees Gibbs, Arthur Lee Gibbs, Willie Wooden; her sisters, Willie Mae Taylor, Eva Gibbs-Roberts and Ida Bell Smith; her aunts, Ruby Gibbs-Wardie, Dorothy Hutchinson-Floyd, Dollie Gibbs; her uncle, Edward Gibb; her sisters-in-law, Edna Wallace and Ruby Harvey-Albert.
She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters, LaWanna Gibbs, Emily Thompson, Titania Thompson (all of Kingsland, GA), Delores Leslie (Goldboro, NC); three grandchildren, Devin McGinnis, Drakar Little, Mikal Thompson (all of Kingsland, GA); great-grandchild, Noel Blair; Siblings, Liddie Paige, Laney Owens, Freddie Parrish, Lorretta Maddox, Naomi Hall, Kenneth Dallas, Darnell Dallas, Joyce Dallas, Anthony Milton, Lorie Gibbs; aunt, Emma Gibbs; uncle, LeRoy Gibbs and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 05, 2023 from 5-7 pm at Allison Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, at 10141 Colerain Rd., St. Mary's, GA 31558.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 06, 2023, @ 11:00 am at Woodbine Cemetery, Hwy 110 Woodbine, GA 31569.
