Obituary for Marie Presley (Bethea)

For our life's just a limit for when God calls, it only takes a minute. Rest in peace and all wondering is gone. God has given her a brand new home.

In the early morning on Monday, March 28, 2022, Mother Marie Elizabeth B. Presley was received into the arms of God. Into a blessed rest of everlasting peace and into the glorious community of saints of life. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on" "yes" says the spirit." They will rest from their labor; for their deeds will follow them." Revelation 14:13 NIV

Mother Presley was born August 7, 1929 in Daisy-Evans County, GA to the late Frank C. Bosie and Lucille Davis Bethea. She met and married the love of her life, John Henry Presley, Sr. of Ludowiici, GA. To this union three sons were born.

She attended school in both Evans and Tattnall County school. Mother Marie was a great cook and always had great food. You could eat plenty at her house. She loved gardening and canning and preserving food. She also worked as a housekeeper. In 1977, she was employed by the Department of Family and Children's Services as a caretaker for Senior Citizens.

Early in her married life she joined Elem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of her father-in-law, Rev. Abe Presley. Mother Marie worked faithfully in the church wherever she was needed. She became the Mother of the church where she attended and served regularly until her health failed.
