Obituary for Mary Tarber (Godwin)

Mary L. Tarber, was born on October 5, 1943, to the late, William and Christine Jones-Godwin in Mayo, Florida. Mary was the wife of the late, Clyde Tarber and was a member of Evergreen Church under the leadership of Elder Nathaniel Anderson. She was a former employee of King and Prince Seafood, Bonnie Sportswear, Wayne Memorial Hospital, and she also worked as a private duty house sitter. Mary loved to fish and enjoyed spending time with her family.

On November 24, 2019, God saw that Mary had grown weary of this world and call her from labor to reward.
She was preceded in death by both parents, William and Christine Godwin; her husband, Clyde Tarber, her son, Patrick Tarber, and two brothers, James and Bobby Godwin.

She leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters, Sharon Tarber, Decatur, Ga., Rhonda Hardy, Screven, Ga. and Tracy (Fred) Cummings, Patterson, Ga.; two sons, Clyde Tarber, Jr., Christmas, Pa. and Terrance Tarber of Jesup, Ga.; one aunt, Annis Wilkinson of Philadelphia, Pa.; four sisters, Verdell Fuller, Mershon, Ga., Billie (Franklin) Batton, Alma, Ga., Laverne Wright, Waycross, Ga., and Gwendolyn Williams of Waycross, Ga.; seven brothers, Louis Godwin, Waycross, Ga., William (Mary) Godwin, Blackshear, Ga., Leon Godwin, Waycross, Ga., Jackie, Kenneth and Keith Godwin, all of Waycross; sisters in-law, Hilda Mae Gaffney, Screven, Ga., Rose Tarber, Waycross, Ga., Edith and Janie Tarber, both of Screven, Ga.; one brother in- law, Benny (Esteen) Tarber, Pheonix, Arizona; (12) grandchildren, (16) great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
