Obituary for Melissa Shaw (Shellman)
Melissa Shellman, 50, a native of Charlton County and resident of Riverdale, Ga., passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020, at Southern Regional Hospital in Riverdale, Ga. She was born on May 6, 1970, to the late, Charlie Shellman, Sr. and Dorothy Blackshear-Shellman, in Bronx, NY. Melissa was educated in the public school system of Charlton County, where she participated in basketball and track and field. Her last place of employment was with McDonalds Restaruant. Melissa will be remembered as a fun loving individual that would give her last to anyone in need and had a heart of gold. She was preceded in death by both parents, Charlie and Dorothy Shellman, and a brother, Jonathan Greene.
Those left to cherish her memory: her loving children, Cindy (Willie) McCrae, Riverdale, Ga., Greshondra Shellman, Jacksonville, Fl. and Gregory Shellman of Riverdale, Ga.; her sisters, Frances Shellman, West Palm Beach, Fl.,Veronica Shellman, St. Marys, Ga. and Kathy Lodge of Orlando, Fl.; her brothers, Mandell Blackshear (Tracy), Jacksonville, Fl., Charlie Dwayne Shellman, St. Marys, Ga., Mark Shellman, Ocala, Fl. and Christopher Shellman, Folkston, Ga.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m, at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine St., Jesup, Ga. 31545
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 @ 2:00 p.m. at Pinkney Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Traders Hill, Ga.
