Obituary for Michele Mincey

Missionary Michele Malinda Mincey was born on Sept. 25, 1956 to the late, Deacon Charles and Pearl Varner-Mincey in Miami, Fl. She was the eldest daughter of the Varner-Mincey siblings. Mother Pearl later married Mr. Midgle Varner (Bonus Father) who played an instrumental role in Michele’s upbringing.

Michele loved the Lord and acknowledged Him as her personal savior. From her youth until she gained her wings, she demonstrated an array of talent and accomplished many personal goals. Her anointed voice captured the hearts of many as she served in various choirs, a phenomenal chef with over 20 years of culinary experience, a visionary artist and a licensed cosmetologist.

Michele graduated from Miami Norland Senior High School. She further advanced her education, by earning degrees in Business, Medical Billing and Coding from Florida Career College. Michele married Earnest "Wop" Butler and gave birth to her first born daughter, Nikiki Giovanni Butler (deceased). She later gave birth to her second daughter, Ebonee’ Mincey and only son, Stephon Washington.

After overcoming life challenges, Michele dedicated her life to the Lord under the leadership of Pastor Elder William Brazil. As a diligent servant, she organized outreach programs, served as choir director of the “Singing Angels” and established "The Gospel Love Fest" musical concert.

Michele had an amazing love for God, church and family. She often spoke about writing an autobiography entitled “20/20/20: 20 years in the streets-20 years sober-20 years saved”.

In 2019, Michele relocated to Kingsland, Ga to provide care for her parents. She was an active missionary & powerful intercessory prayer warrior at Miracle Temple Church of God by Faith Inc. in Woodbine, Ga. under the leadership of Elder Timothy Smith and First Lady Sherryl Smith.

On July 14, 2022, Michele gained her wings at UF Health Shands in Gainesville, Fl. She was preceded in death by both parents, Charles and Pearl Clay-Mincey; her stepfather, Midgle Varner; a daughter, Nikki Butler; four sisters, Vanessa Mincey, Monica Varner, Alice Varner-Felton, Lydia Turnquest-Varner; three brothers, Larry and Daniel Mincey and Larry Vaughn; and two uncles, Eddie and James Clay.

Michele leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Ebonee’ Mincey (Desmond Wright II) and Stephon Washington; five grandchildren, Desmond Wright III, Ki’Miya Wright, Juelz Wright, Harlem Wright & London Wright; siblings, First Lady Sherryl (Elder Timothy) Smith, Laurie (Darrin) Gatlin, Eric (Anturella) Varner, Christopher (Nadege) Varner and Tyrone (Annette) Mincey, Jeanette Varner, Loistene Varner (Kenneth) King, Brenda Varner Mincey, Roxanne (Ronnie) Reed and Laverne Mincey; her loving aunts, Queen Ester (Jerome) Dunmore and Barbara (Thomas) Haynes, Cathy Mincey, Loistene (Lonnie) Mann and Earlene Clay; her uncles, Eugene (Denise) Mincey and Bernard (Requelle) Mincey; a devoted niece, Monica Varner and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Miracle Temple Church of God by Faith, 1202 South Court Avenue, Woodbine, Ga. 31569, Elder Timothy Smith, Eulogist and Dr. Kathleen Simmons, Presiding.

A viewing will be held one hour prior to services on Saturday, July 30, 2022.
