Obituary for Mildred Thomas (Ellerson)
Mildred I. Ellerson-Thomas, 81, of Woodbine, Ga., passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at the Senior Care Center in St. Marys, Ga. She was born on June 8, 1938, to the late, Howard Ellerson and Margaret Johnson-Ellerson, in St. Marys, Ga. She received her primary education at Ralph J, Bunche School, and was a life long member of Jerusalem #1 Baptist Church in White Oak, Ga. Mildred was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, working puzzles, and spending time with her family, until her health began to fail.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sip Thomas, both parents, Howard and Margaret Ellerson, Sr.; her son, Howard Ellerson, Jr.; two grandchildren, Lakeisha Wilson and Maurice Samuel.
Survivors include: her children, Karen (Ernest) Edwards, Woodbine, Ga., Cynthia (Aaron) Walker, Meridian, Ga., Velencia Lidge, Tarboro, Ga., Martina (Cyrus) Roberts, Woodbine, Ga., Lynn Zow, Kingsland, Ga. and Sheryl Parker, Woodbine, Ga.; three sisters, Peggy (Kenneth) Smith, Kingsland, Ga., Venus Austin,Chicago, Il. and Margaret " Vi" Drummond, St. Marys, Ga.; a daughter in-law, Sharon Ellerson, St. Marys, Ga.; (23) grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews cousins and close friends, Ollie Foreman and Sandra Myers.
