Obituary for Nina Hamm (Jones)

Nina Louise Jones Hamm, 88, of Screven, Ga. passed away on September 25, 2022 at Harborview Nursing Facility in Jesup, Ga. She was born on December 20, 1933 to the late, Willie and Eddie Mae Jones, Sr. in Screven, Ga. Nina was educated in Wayne County Training School System and worked as a X-Ray Technician at Wayne Memorial Hospital for (35) years before retiring in 1995. Nina was a long time faithful member of First African Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board for many years and later became a faithful member of the Sunday School Class until her health began to fail. She resided at Harborview Nursing Facility where she could receive around the clock care until her demise. Nina will forever be remembered as the loving and kind person that she was.

She was preceded in death by both parents, Willie Jones, Sr. and Eddie Mae Dixon-Jones; her loving husband, Toby Howard Hamm; two brothers, Willie Joe Jones and Frankie Lee Jones; two sons, James Wesley Wright and Joe Lather Jones and a daughter, Shondra Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memory: three loving daughters, Barbara (Lorenzo) Bennett, jesup, Ga., Linda Clark, Brunswick, Ga. and Ellen (John) Vail, Screven, Ga.; a son, Alden Eugene Jones, Screven, Ga.; two step sons, Anthony Hamm and Fredrick Hamm of Miami, Fl.; one loving sister, Mary Francis Thomas, Screven, Ga.; a loving adopted sister, Aretha Myles, Jesup, Ga.; (11) grandchildren; (18) great grandchildren; two uncles, Danny (Denitha) Fussell, Screven, Ga. and Larry (Josephine) Fussell, Jesup, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

A viewing will be held on Friday, September30, 2022 at Royal Funeral Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 01, 2022 at First African Baptist Church, 402 Tarber Street, Screven, Ga. 31560 @ 3:00 p.m. Interment will be in Screven Cemetery,
