Obituary for Nona Cobbs

Nona Faye Cobbs, 64, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on October 06, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Ga. She was born on December 04, 1957 in Wayne County, Ga. to the late, Robert F. and Pearlie Lee Mayes-Cobbs. Nona Faye was educated in the public school system of Wayne County. She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age under the leadership of Bishop Abraham Wilkins at Little Bethel Holiness Church in Screven, Ga. She later became a member of Jesup New Life Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Fritz L. Cobbs.

Nona was preceded in death by both parents, Robert and Pearlie Cobbs, her brothers, Bishop Fritz Cobbs, Pastor Sherman Cobbs and a sister, Cassandra Cobbs. Nona’s personality was contagious. She had a beautiful smile and the love that she had for her family and friends was the love of God. She will be sorely missed by everyone.

Nona leaves to cherish her precious memories: her loving and devoted children, Stephanie S. Cobbs, Kingsland, Ga., Billy T. Guyton, Jesup, Ga. and Kenyada M. (Tavoris) Wilkins, Jesup, Ga.; the father of her three children, Billy Guyton, Tampa, Fl.; her grandson that she raised as her own, TyQuaveon Nelson; (21) grandchildren and (3) great grandchildren

Nona left a legacy of love, faith and endurance to her siblings, Vera Wallace, David Cobbs, Pearlie Digsby, Annette Cobbs, Allison (Leonard) Simmons; her devoted sister in love, Pastor Bertha Cobbs; her godchildren, Tamara (Bennie) Green, Kierra Tarber, Kristie Vail and Latisha Harris; special friends, Patricia Vail, Pastor David Wilkins, Joann Canidate, Rita M. Campbell and Larry Doomes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Royal Funeral Home. 247 W. Pine St., Jesup. Ga. 31545 from 5-7 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022 @ 1: pm at Jesup New Life Ministries, 512 Walker Street. Jesup, Ga. 31546. Interment in Screven Cemetery.
