Otis Small Sr. was born on October 1, 1955, in Camden County, Georgia to Jack and Marquerita Chance
Small.
He attended Ralph Bunch High School in Woodbine, Ga. Upon graduation, Otis attended Savannah State
University in Savannah Ga. In 1992, he moved to Bronx, New York, where he attended Harlem Columbus
University and obtained his B.A. degree in Social Work. Mr. Small pursued a Master’s Degree in social
work at Hunter College in Harlem, New York. While in the Master’s program, he used his skills as a social
worker at the Harlem Hospital.
During his free time, he enjoyed working at the recreational center in the Bronx, New York.
All these accomplishments brought joy to Otis, however, his true happiness was obtained when he met
and married Patricia Mobley. To this union, two children were born, a daughter, Tyeesha Mobley and a son, Otis
Small, Jr.
Otis departed this life on May 6, 2020, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Small and a sister, Gracie Life.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories, a devoted mother, Marquerita Small, nine siblings, they are
Jacqueline (Harry) Colsby, Alma Walther, Henrietta (Buster) Lee, Wendy (David) Ramos, Saundra Flemings,
Eugene (Ella) Small, Bobby Small, Jack Small Jr., Reuben Small, Edward (Casey) Small; Great Aunts, Sarah
Small, Louise Small, Mildred Small and Iona Small; and a host of other dear relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020 @ 11:00 a.m., at the Clinch Chapel Cemetery, White Oak, Ga.
