Ronnie Lamar Smith, 66, of Folkston, Ga. passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 18, 2023, He was born on October 12, 1956 to the late, Melad and Rosa Edwards-Smith, Sr. in Charlton County, Ga. Ronnie received his primary education in the public school system of Charlton County and graduated in the Class of 1974. At an early age Ronnie was introduced and formed a lasting relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ which was the teachings of his God-fearing parents. After graduating high school, Ronnie joined the United States Navy where he served his country proudly for (22) years of dedicated service. After retiring from the military, he took on many unique hobbies with the construction and installation of wooden fences being his favorite.

Ronnie was preceded in death by both parents, Melad and Rosa Smith, Sr., his grandson, Jaequad Bomani Smith and a brother, Victor Leon Smith.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories: three amazing daughters, April (HaShawn) Sirmons, Kingsland, Ga., Latonya Smith, Savannah, Ga. and Veronica (Patrick) James of Folkston, Ga.; his wonderful siblings, Dr. Melad Smith, Jr., Jesse (Oria) Smith, Joyce Christopher, all of Folkston, Ga., William Smith ( Michelle) Texas, Timothy Smith, Hilliard, Fl., Maria (Michael) Jones, Hinesville, Ga., Robin (Cornelius) Taylor, Kingsland, Ga., Janice (Robert) Bolden, Jeffery Smith, Reginald (Charlene) Smith, Resa Smith and Vincent "Scott" Smith, all of Folkston, Ga.; (5) grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that we will miss him dearly.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 @ 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Cemetery Road, Folkston, Ga. 31537
