Obituary for Rose Harris

Rose Marie Harris, 61, of Ludowici, Ga., passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on May 11, 1959 to the late, Ernest and Annie Bell Cooper, in Jesup, Ga. Rose was educated in the public school system of Long County, Ga., and was a former employee of Long County Senior Center where she worked as a cook. Rose was a member of St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church in Ludowici, Ga., where she served as the Youth Ministry Director and worked dutifully on the Hospitality Committee. She was united in holy matrimony to Robert Lee Harris, Sr., on July 26, 1976.

She leaves to mourn her passing: her loving husband, Robert Lee Harris, Sr., Ludowici, Ga.; a step-son, Robert Lee Harris, Jr. and step-grandson Vyshon Harris, of North Carolina.; her sisters, Larcenia (Peter) Walthour, Midway, Ga. and Mary Hamilton, Ludowici, Ga.; her brothers, William (Gwendolyn) Cooper, Jersey City, NJ and David Cooper, Ludowici, Ga.; her sisters in-laws, Mary Cooper, Jersey City, NJ, Arletha (James) Baggs, Ludowici, Ga. and Cynthia (Henry) Johnson, Miami, Fl.; brothers in-law, Larry D. (Elaine) Harris, Brunswick, Ga., Edward Harris, Miami, Fl. and Freddie (Danielle) Harris, Jesup, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021, in the church yard of St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church, 147 Boundary Street, Ludowici, Ga. 31316 @ 1:00 p.m. Interment in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Ludowici, Ga. 31316.

*Everyone planning to attend services are expected to wear the proper PPE (mask) and observe the 6 ft. social distancing guidelines set by our local health department and CDC.
