Obituary for Rosena Tippins (Riley)
Ms. Rosena Riley Tippins was born on November 12, 1934, to the late Mr. Henry and Mrs. Minnie Pines Riley. She departed this life on August 11, 2023, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Ms. Rosena Tippins was united in marriage to the late Clifford Tippins. She was a loyal church member of Greater Morris Chapel Baptist Church under the pastorship of Dr. Reverend Darron Moore. Ms. Rosena Tippins was a dedicated Deaconess and Mother of the Church.
Ms. Rosena Tippins retired from Jesup Manor Nursing Home, where she served as a dietician for over 28 years. When Ms. Rosena was not working, you could find her sitting on her porch, planting tomatoes and peppers, or fishing. She had a vivid memory and knew everyone in the family’s telephone numbers and recipes by heart – all you had to do was ask. She was our family historian and confidante.
Ms. Rosena Tippins was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Tippins; her beloved son, Henry Riley; five brothers, Allen Riley, Wesley Riley, Wayward Riley, Raymond Riley, and Ira Riley; six sisters, Edith Turner, Reacy Davis, Mattie Brown, Bernice Mae Riley, Maggie Davis, and Grace Riley.
Those left to cherish her memories, nine grandchildren, Arwenthia (William) Simmons of Waycross, GA, Myster A. Lyfe, Amanda Fullmore, Jarvis Fullmore, Dyan Ingram, Sarah Fullmore, all of Jesup, GA, Henry Ingram of Odum, GA, Paulette (Willie) Armstrong of Hinesville, GA, and Lisa Moore of Cochran, GA; 18 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, a best friend, Elizabeth Kelly of Jesup, GA; Vandella Harris of Waycross, GA, whom she loved as a daughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Royal Funeral Home Chapel from 5-7 pm.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023 @ 11:00 am at Greater Morris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 362 N. Third Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545.
Interment in Odum City Cemetery, 751 Tillman Street, Odum, Ga. 31555
