Obituary for Sade' Murphy
On Wednesday, March 6th, 2024, God called His child, Sade’ Marie Murphy, to her heavenly home. Sade’ was born on November 4th, 1987 in St. Marys, Georgia to Thomas and Ethel Mae Murphy.
From an early age, Sade’ always possessed a spirit of praise for the Lord and was ordained as our earthly angel. Sade’ touched the hearts of everyone she came in connection with and was able to bring people from all walks of life together. She could sense when someone was enduring tough times and would lay hands on them offering them prayer. Defeating many odds, Sade’ was her own living testimony. Seeing her infectious smile while facing life adversities could make anybody else's trouble seem obsolete.
Sade’ and her family lived in Folkston, GA, New Haven, CT, Jacksonville, FL, and Newport News, VA. She graduated from Woodside High School of Newport News, VA in 2008.
She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Murphy Sr., her paternal grandparents, Charlie and Iceylean Murphy, maternal grandfather, William Milton, Sr. (Tugg), and a slew of aunts and uncles.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: her mother, Ethel Mae Murphy of Newport News, VA; siblings, Thomas Murphy, Jr. of Folkston, GA, Precious Murphy (Stephen) of Newport News, VA, Carrington Grigley of Atlanta, GA and Tytianna Grigley of Greenville, NC; honorary sister, Akouvi (Ezi) Ekoue of Newport News, VA and honorary brother, Antonio Hamilton (Lisa) of Folkston, GA; nieces and nephews, India Murphy, Thomas Murphy III, Jaden Murphy, Jayce Ricks, Victoria and Amelia, and honorary niece Dee Dee Ekoue; grandmother, Ethel Jester (Jim) of Newport News, VA; aunts Barbara Murphy of Pasco County, FL, Jackie Gilyard of Folkston, GA, Sharon Pollock of Dacula, GA, June Smith (Jack) of Hamden, CT, Kimberly Armenio and Kathy Malachi of Meriden, CT, Carmen Milton of Newport News, VA, Dinah Kinney (Robert) of Hamden, CT, Coretta Rodriguez (Carlos) of Hampton, VA, Elizabeth Milton of Charlotte, NC, Leola Lee of Newport News, VA and Brittney Milton of Jacksonville, FL.; uncle, Cory Milton (Lavetra) of Atlanta, GA; special aunt, Errica Milton; godmother, Glenda Hutchinson; goddaughter, Chanel Rodriguez and a slew of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, teachers, and co-workers who all cherished and loved Sade’ dearly.
A wake/viewing will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 6-8 pm at the Original Holiness Church, Milton Street, Folkston, Ga. 31537.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Jerusalem Holiness Church, 453 Mt. Carmel Street, Folkston, Ga. 31537.
Interment in Pine View Cemetery, 224 Cemetery Drive, Folkston, Georgia 31537, immediately following services.
