Obituary for Shona Wilkins
Shona Carlette Wilkins, 54, of Savannah, Georgia passed away on September 13, 2023, at her residence. She was born August 16, 1969, to the late, Neterhaphi (Dorothy) Height Quartey and Willie Lee Wilkins in Jesup, GA. Shona was educated at Springbrook High School, Silver Spring, MD – Class of 1987 and Altamaha Technical College. Shona loved cooking and was a very good cook. In the past she worked at Sybils, Captain Joe’s and Western Sizzlin Restaurants. She was employed by Days Inn in Savannah, Georgia where she met a lot of people. She loved the people she worked with and often talked about her job and the people she met. She loved people and it was easy to love her. Shona never met a stranger and was kind to everybody.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her only son, Brandon Lee Wilkins, Savannah, Ga.; three grandchildren, Brooklyn and BraShona Wilkins of Hinesville, Ga. And Kalieal Wilkins of Jesup, Ga.; one great-grandchild, Kingston Amir of Hinesville; one brother, Steven Wilkins of Jacksonville, Florida; her aunts, Robbie (Eddie) Sanders, Ilinda (David) Attical, Lerita Wilkins, Screven, Ga., and Nellie Moore, Alexandria, Va.; her Uncles, Sammy (Valerie), Fort Washington, Md., Jimmy (Alfreda) Height, McRae, Ga., Freddy (Doris) Height, Eulonia, Ga., Andrew (Angela) Height, Brunswick, Ga., James Richardson, Richmond Hill, Ga., Bishop Joseph Wilkins, Screven, Ga., District Elder David Wilkins (Martha) Wilkins, Screven, Ga., Johnny (Keisha) Wilkins, Waycross, Ga., Lewis (Joann) Wilkins, Jesup, Ga., Jerome (Linda) Screven, Ga.; her great-aunts, Marion Hames and Juanita Barns of McRae, Ga., and Ruby Jean King of Atlanta, Ga.; one great-uncle, Jerry Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
There will NOT be a wake/viewing on Friday.
Remains will lie in state one hour prior to services on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 12 noon until 1 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 1:00 pm, at Love and Faith Chapel, 311 E. Pine St., Jesup, Ga. 31546.
Interment in Helena Cemetery, McRae, Ga.
