Obituary for Stanley "Pop Pop" Harris

STANLEY HARRIS was the child of Alberta Johnson Harris (deceased) and Samuel Cornelius Harris Sr. (deceased), and brother of five to Samuel Cornelius Harris (Rita), Adam Troy Harris, Alison Williams (Kelvin), Steven Maurice Harris (Deceased) and Cassandra Diane Harris (deceased).

Stanley was an amazing man. He attended Baltimore City Schools and gave his life to Christ at Calvary Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland. He then graduated from carpentry school in 1987 and married his one and only wife, Sharon Harris, in September of 1987. Stanley loved his career as a construction worker.

He could remodel and fix pretty much anything that had to do with a house, buildings, and more. Stanley also loved horses, his favorite one was Lady in Blue. Stanley's favorite pastime was listening to music, singing, training and betting on horses, and overall spending time with family.

He relocated to Kentucky with his wife and six children in 1990 and had his last child, Bria Harris in 1993. He's the father of Nina Jones, Lakesha Garcia, Amy Harris, Adam Harris, Amber Harris, and Bria Harris. He had a host of 18 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Stanley was really into his health (as he would say he was a health freak). He loved to extract his vegetables and fruits, but that man LOVED him some ginger. Exercise was one thing he was big on and he made sure he passed it on down to his children and grandchildren. Even though he was big on health, his favorite food to make was fried chicken, and his children and grandchildren loved for him to make it. If Stanley wasn't singing. cooking, or fixing on something, he was giving a speech about something, whether it was about God, life, positive advice or all of the above. He loved to see people happy and would spread the word of God to whomever every chance he could. We loved and appreciated every conversation he had with us from babies to grown-ups. We will carry those words of encouragement and advice with us for the rest of our lives. Stanley was kindhearted, loving, sweet, but stern, his children's hero, and just a happy person. We will miss him forever and always, and as he would say, we love him a whole bunch a bunch.
