Obituary for Stephanie Shuman

Stephanie Denise Shuman, 51, of Jesup, Ga. passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Liberty Memorial Hospital in Hinesville, Ga. She was born on March 14, 1970 to the late, Woodrow Darling, Jr. and Norma Jean Shuman-Washington in Jesup, Ga. Stephanie was educated in the public school system of Wayne County and attended Altamaha Technical College majoring in Criminal Justice. Her hobbies consisted of shopping, eating and spending time with her family. Stephanie was the best at everything. She was the best singer, dancer and a born leader. She was a former member of Greater St. James, and later moved her membership to New Covenant under the leadership of Pastor Carl Mackey.
Stephanie was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow Darling, Jr.; her maternal grandparents, Ethel L. Vail and Leroy Daniels; her paternal grandparents, Gertrude Darling and Woodrow Darling, Sr.

Those left to cherish her memories: her beautiful children, Quartez (Erica Irving) Doomes, Quehon Doomes and Alneigh Morris, all of Jesup, Ga.; her loving mother, Norma Jean Washington, Jesup, Ga.; her step fathers, Madison Washington, Patterson, Ga. and George Goodman, Alma, Ga.; her siblings, Pamela D. Johnson, Tifton, Ga., Yolanda Addison, Brunswick, Ga., Crissie (Terrance) Bennette, Jesup, Ga., LaTonya Culberth and Maurice Goodman, all of Jesup, Ga., Antonio (Matarlyn) Washington, Alma, Ga. and Anescio Washington of Washington, DC; five grandchildren, Quarhianna Doomes, Aubrey Doomes, Quehon Doomes, Jr., Jaycee Rae Doomes and Lenox Doomes; her aunts, Juanita (Eddie) Green, Leona Nixon, Audrea Williams, Lillie Mae Washington, all of Jesup, Ga., Queen Ester McGill, Winnfield, La. and Isabella Hunter of Patterson, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

A walk thru viewing will be held on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. from 5p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 @ 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery, 1580 Sunset Blvd, Jesup, Ga.

Everyone planning to attend either services are asked to wear your masks to aid in the prevention and spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and observe the social distancing guidelines set by local authorities.
