Obituary for Steven "Bernie" Perry

Steven Bernard Perry “Bernie” passed away Friday, January 7, 2022 at Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville, Georgia. He was born October 23, 1972 to Lena Mae Perry (Kelley) at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup, Georgia.
Bernie was raised in the home of his grandparents, the Late, Willie Fred (Bubba) and Lessie Mae Daniels Perry in Ludowici, Georgia until the age of eight. His mother, Lena, met and married Melvin Kelley, who was in the military. Bernie traveled and attended school in various locations, including Germany, Augusta, Georgia and Huntsville, Alabama. His last place of employment was Power Secure, Ft. Stewart, Georgia.

In addition to his grandparents, Bernie was preceded in death by his uncles, Willie Fred “Poo Chow” Perry, Jr., Carl. E. Hamilton, and Eugene Little.

Bernie leaves to cherish his memory: his beautiful daughter, Lena Drummonds of Statesboro, Ga.; his mother and father, Lena and Melvin Kelley, Hinesville, Ga.; his sister, Samantha Kelly of Malibu, California; aunts, Gloria Ann Little and Melissa (David) Hagan of Ludowici, Ga., Shelia Perry and Wanda (Ervin) Jackson of Hinesville, Ga., Lurena Hamilton of Riviera Beach, Fl., and Joannett (Pastor) Jones of Huntsville, Al.; an uncle, Clayton Perry of Ludowici, Ga.; a devoted special friend. Bridgett Mutcherson of Hinesville, Ga.; and a host of great aunts, great uncles, numerous cousins and friends, including his close friends, Jamie and Johnny Hagan and Kerry DeLoach.

A walk thru viewing will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 @ 11:00 a.m. at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, followed by cremation.
