Obituary of the Beloved Teressa Harrell Clark
Teressa Harrell Clark, 96 years old, left the loving embrace of her family to enter the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 17, 2020. She was born on June 11, 1923, in Jacksonville, GA, to the late Frank Harrell and Everlena Smith Harrell. She was known as a generous, kind, and loving lady, whose family always came first. She exemplified the spirit of encouragement for her children, grandchildren, and all that knew her. A woman of unfailing faith, she was a devoted member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as the clerk and president of the Usher Board. She was a lifetime member of the O.E.S. Chapter 114 Jacksonville, GA, where she served as the chapter secretary. She enjoyed reading her Bible, fishing, cruising to the Caribbean’s, and volunteering at McRae Manor Nursing Home, where she received several honors for “Volunteer of the Year”. Mrs. Clark retired from Swift and Company in Douglas, GA. She was a licensed midwife for many years and took pride in the delivery of hundreds of babies in the state of Georgia.
Mrs. Clark loved wearing stylish hats, and more importantly, loved giving to others. In addition to her parents, her husband, Robert Lee Clark, preceded her in death. Also, a son, Robert Ray Clark Sr., of Jacksonville GA, a grandson, Keith Clark, of Easton, PA; four sisters, Frankie Lee Harrell, Bertha Mae Jackson, Daisy McRae, and Margie Nell Harrell; five brothers, Will, Howard, Jerry, John, and Andrew Harrell preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by two daughters, Robbie Thompson and Linda Walker, of Jacksonville GA; three sons, Rev. Clarence Clark (Bessie) of Easton, PA, George Clark (Shirley) and John Henry Clark (Elaine) both of Douglas, GA; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-five great- grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; a special son-in-law, William “Billy” Walker of Lyons, GA; one sister, Lillie P. Moore (Zack) of Douglas, GA; one sister-n-law, Laura Spooney (Bud) of Douglas, GA; the children of her late brother, Will Harrell (Jessie Mae), whom she had a major impact in their life; a goddaughter, Ms. Evonne Studstill of McRae, GA; a special niece and nephew, Margaret Harrell of Ocala, FL and Wayne Harrell of Clermont, FL; her caregivers Louise Fowler, Arlene Harrell, and Patricia McNeely; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
When asked, “How are you doing?” Her family and friends will remember her by her favorite expression…
“I’m fine as wine and ain’t drunk a drop!”
