Obituary for Tony "Jake" Reddish

Tony Anthony Reddish, 64, of Jesup, GA passed away on October 8, 2022, at his residence in Jesup. He was born on December 23, 1957, to the late, Willie Reddish, Jr. and Rena Bell Adams Reddish in Jesup, GA. Tony was educated and graduated from Wayne County High School in the Class of 1976. He was a member of Mt. Mariah AME Church where he sang in the choir. He was employed as a custodian at the Jesup Elementary School in Jesup, GA. Tony loved spending time with his family.

Tony was preceded in death by both parents, Willie Reddish, Jr and Rena Bell Reddish; a sister, Willie Lee "Bonnie" Reddish and a brother, Willie "Skip" Reddish, III.

Those left to cherish his memories: two sons, Demaurio Lamond (Latrica) Nelson, Jesup, GA and Demario Ravone (Cyrena) Nelson, Douglasville, GA; raised like his own daughter, Nicki Nelson; his siblings, Ricky (Sharon) Reddish, Sr, Jesup, GA, Fredrick Reddish, Sr, Atlanta, GA, June Reddish-Atkinson, James Lanier, Jeffery (Ann) Lanier, GA, Cynthia (Ray) Kelly, all of Jesup, GA and Demetra (Steve) Barner, White Plains, VA; uncles, Sam (Juanita) Holmes and Walter Holmes, both of Brunswick, GA; six grandchildren, Dameria Fuller, Kalayia Nelsom, Shantrica Jefferson, Daija, Denecia, Demario Nelson, Jr.; god sisters and brothers, Charlene Norwood, Onzell Way, Sandra Marshall,Tory Felder, James Norwood and Greg (Charlotte) Norwood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

A wake will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Royal Funeral Home. 247 W. Pine St., Jesup. Ga. 31545 from 4-6 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 @ 11:00 am at Emory Chapel United Methodist Church, 311 N. Hickory St., Jesup, GA 31546. Interment will be at the Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery, 1570 Sunset Blvd, Jesup, GA 31545.
