Obituary for Tyberius "Ty" Carter

Tyberius Anton Carter, AKA "Ty", 43, of Jesup, Ga., passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Ga., following a lengthy illness. He was born on October 31, 1976, to Bishop James and Betty Adams-Carter, in Jesup, Ga. Tyberius was educated in the public school system of Wayne County and graduated in the Class of 1995. He later attended Brunswick Junior College where he studied Business. He loved to exercise and watch sports, as well as, spending time with his family and friends. He attended church at New Creation Ministries under the leadership of his uncle, Pastor Stanley (Bridget) Carter. Many will remember Tyberius from his employable years with the Dept. of Transportation and Western Sizzler, and others will remember him for the kind, loving young man that he was.

Tyberius was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Pringle and Willie Mae Adams; his paternal grandmother, Barbara Dunn-Bostic; his uncle, Lamar Adams and his nephew, Randy Lamont Jones, Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory: his children, Kylee Williams and Tytianna Carter, both of Jesup, Ga.; one grandchild, Kalise Tippins, Jesup, Ga.; his parents, Bishop James and Betty Adams-Carter, Jesup, Ga.; his grandfather, Richard Earl Carter, College Park, Ga.; his siblings, Brandie (Randy Lamont) Carter-Jones, Sr., Jesup, Ga., Jules "Lajuan" Mobley-Carter, Fairburn, Ga. and Melanie LaShay Carter, Jesup, Ga.; his aunts, Mary (Graylon) Brown, Jacksonville, Fl., Alisha (Warren) Fabian, Jesup, Ga., Maria (Chris) Harris, Savannah, Ga., Aisha Fain, Warner Robins, Ga.,Yourubra (Anthony) Latiker, Memphis, Tn. and Aminata (Daniel) Solammon, Atlanta, Ga.; his uncles, Gary Scott, Pastor Stanley (Bridget) Carter and Demetrius Bostic, all of Jesup, Ga. and Eric (Melissa) Dunn, Pittsburg, PA; his great aunt, Rena Bell Reddish, Jesup, Ga.; his great great aunt, Naomi Newberry, Stone Mountain, Ga.; his great uncle, Clinton (Hattie) Dunn, Los Angeles, Ca.; a close friend, Jason Wilkerson, Jesup, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss him sorely.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Royal Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020, @ 10:00 a.m., at Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery, 1580 Sunset Blvd, Jesup, Ga. 31545

*There will NOT be a Repast following services.

*At the family's request, we ask kindly that everyone please refrain from visiting the family residence, as we continue to fight the COVID-19 virus, as it continues to spread among us. The family ask that you continue to pray for them as they grieve the loss of their son, brother, grandson, and friend.

We ask everyone in attendance to wear your PPE. Mask are required upon your arrival to the funeral home and graveside services. Please help us in our efforts to protect both you and our staff.
