Obituary for Verdie "BeeDee" Mainor (Kite)

Verdie Lee Mainor was born on April 6, 1934, to the late Joe Kite Sr and Ardena Hamilton Kite in White Oak, Ga. Verdie Lee Mainor was raised in the Jerusalem portion of Camden County, Ga. She completed her education in White Oak, Ga of the Camden County School System. Upon completion of her education, she entered the workforce in the domestic service, in which she impacted the lives of her employers throughout her years in the industry.

As a young adult, she dedicated her life to Christ, in which she never wavered and spent her entire life spreading the Word of the Lord to everyone she came in contact with. She was a dedicated member of White Oak Pentecostal Church, in which she served faithfully until her demise.

A family woman, she made sure all of her family and friends knew that they had a safe place to go. "BeeDee", as she was affectionately known, was a strong woman of God, and was a stronghold in her community. Generations of people came into her house, and she never turned them away. Everyone who was in her presence felt the Spirit of God. She was a woman whose impact on her community was much bigger than the money she had.

Verdie Lee Mainor had a lifelong passion for cooking. On holidays, she would prepare her famous sweet potato pie for her many customers as well as family members. Her sweet potato pie recipe has been tried over the years, but no one has been able to make it taste like BeeDee's. She loved to read the bible and listen to Gospel music as well. She also loved to go shopping, particularly at Belk's. Verdie also enjoyed being on the phone, talking to her many friends and family.

Some of the things you would hear her say were " Life is hard, but fair, " Kids gonna bring you good news and bad news, " It ain't fitting" ," What the use of praying, if you do not believe", " I believe in doing what's right", " God's Grace is efficient", " I believe in treating people right", and countless other words of encouragement she would tell people to help them get through their hard times. Her greatest asset was her being an anointed prayer warrior and an intercessor.
