Obituary for Wanda Lewis

Ms. Wanda Yvette Lewis was born on October 3, 1962 to the late, Jessie Lewis Jr, and Colleen Lewis, on Fort Leonard Wood Army Base, Pulaski County, Missouri. After a short stay in Missouri, she was relocated with the family to Ludowici, GA, where she lived most of her life, until moving to Jesup, GA, several years ago, where she remained until her death. She received her education in the Long County Public School system, finishing in 1981. Wanda had a passion to serve others and found her calling as a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked in that capacity at Jesup Health and Rehab for almost two decades. She was a long-time member of the St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church in Ludowici, GA.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her four lovely daughters, Colleen Jones-Brutton of Savannah, GA, Nicole Hailey (Ronnie) of Byron, GA, Kimberly Hailey of Charlotte, NC and Denice Jones of Savannah, GA; her Siblings, a sister, Lisa Ramona (Phillip) Snelling of Seffner, FL, a brother, Jessie (Carlita) Lewis of Providence Forge, VA, and a half-brother, Gregory Middlebrooks of College Park, GA; a host of loving grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

A walk thru viewing will be held at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 E. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 5-7 p.m.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Franklin Street, Ludowici, Ga. 31316

Everyone planning to attend either service is expected to wear their masks and adhere to the social distancing guidelines set by the local health officials and the CDC to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
