Obituary for Willie Jackson

On Friday, April 22, 2022, Willie Lee Jackson laid down his earthly body to accept his glorified body welcoming him among the heavenly host honoring him. Willie was born on July 23, 1953, to the late Joseph and Maude Jackson, of Woodbine, Georgia.

Willie was reared by God-fearing parents who passed on the legacy of the knowledge of Jesus Christ. He confessed his belief in Christ and was baptized at Enterprise Baptiste Church at an early age.

Willie graduated from Ralph Johnson Bunch High School, Camden County Georgia. After graduation he immediately enlisted in the United States Army where he served 21 years and retired as a Sergeant Major. During his enlistment he earned the Senior Parachutist Badge, he coached the All Army Boxing Team and while station in Alaska he met the love of his life, Annette D. McGee, whom he married on March 19, 1993. After serving his country for 21 years in the United States Army, he and his family settled in Frederick, Maryland where he began his second career at Covanta Energy Company.

Willie was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was known for his quiet demeanor, loyalty, dedication to detail and strong work ethic. He had the unique ability to affect everyone who came into his path; he mentored his children and family with his lifestyle and words of wisdom. When he spoke, he encouraged everyone to embrace their better self.

Willie was preceded in death by his: parents Joseph and Maude Jackson; and sister Elizabeth Dunham. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Annette D. Jackson of New Market, Maryland; children St Claire Jackson (Michelle) of Anchorage, Alaska, Latosha Patrice Jackson of Enfield, North Carolina; grandchildren, Sarah, Sariya and Samuel Jackson of Anchorage, Alaska, Taityania and Kevin Crosby, Heaven McGee, Autumn, Summer and Aniyah Waters of Enfield, North Carolina; two brothers, Joseph Jackson Jr.(Equilla) of Kingsland, Georgia, Larry Jackson (Sharon) of Savannah, Georgia; sister Ida Celeste Mack of Woodbine Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be Thursday, May 5, 2022 @ 11:00 a.m. at Woodbine Cemetery, 1059 GA Hwy 110, Woodbine, Ga. 31569
