Obituary for Willie Spellman

Willie Jarrard Spellman, 55, of Jesup, Ga., passed away on February 26, 2020, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness. He was born on February 15, 1965, to the late, Willie Spellman, Jr. and Lillie Bell Hills-Spellman, in Jesup, Ga. Jarrard, as he was affectionately known by many relatives and close friends, was educated in the public school system of Wayne County. He was a faithful member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church and was presently an employee of Yellowwood, until his health began to fail. Jarrard was a former resident of Ft. Pierce, Fl., where he worked at the Ft. Pierce public school system. After relocating to Wayne County, he was also employed with the Tank Plant in Jesup, Ga.

Jarrard will be remembered as an outdoorsman. Most of his jobs were those that required him to be outdoors. He was a hardworking young man that enjoyed lawn care, and any downtime was spent watching his westerns and spending time with his family.

Jarrard was preceded in death by his father, Willie Spellman, Jr.; his brother, Ronnie Spellman; his son, Jarrard Montrell King; his paternal grandparents, Willie and Beatrice Spearman and his maternal grandparents, Willie and Mary Estell Hills.

Survivors include: his loving mother, Lillie Bell Spellman, Jesup, Ga.; his children, Jeronda and Phylissa Sanders, both of Jesup, Ga.; Jalisa (Geovanny Vas'quez) Cordin, Ft. Pierce, Fl.; Jalil Spellman, Ft. Worth, Tx. and Jayla and Jaden K. Spellman, both of Jesup, Ga.; five brothers, Ernest (Kizzie) Spearman, Eric (Gloria) Spellman, Patrick Spellman and Bobby Ray (Deborah) Spellman, all of Jesup, Ga. and Randall Spellman of Manteo, NC; two sisters, Phyllis (Raymond) Thomas and Shelia (Kevin) Jenkins, both of Jesup, Ga.; two half sisters, Valerie (Sam) Williams, San Antonio, Tx. and Louella Norwood of Jesup, Ga.; aunts, Cleo Jackson, Orlando, Fl., Maxi Hamilton, Ft. Pierce, Fl., Gladys Young, Margaret Cherry and Dora Spearman, all of Jesup, Ga.; an uncle, Paul Spearman, Jesup, Ga.; (13) grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.
