Obituary for Yokeema "YoYo" Pack (Russell)

Yokeema Dupree Russell Pack, of Newark, NJ departed this life unexpectedly on Sunday, September 11, 2022. She was born on September 24, 1974 to the late, Rosetta Russell and Jimmy Hill in Newark, NJ. YoYo, as she was known to friends and family, resided with her parents and loved ones in what was known as the “Big House”, on 6th street, Newark.

In her early years, following the death of her parents, she moved to live with her grandmother, the late, Pauline R. Squire. After the passing of her grandmother, she lived with numerous aunts in Jesup, GA and Colorado Springs, CO. and with her uncle in Newark, New Jersey. YoYo received her primary education in the Newark, NJ public school system. In the 1980's she moved to Jesup, GA to attend the Wayne County school system. YoYo later advanced her education at Pikes Peak Community College and Everest College where she studied Medical Insurance Billing and Coding. The birth of her sons, Kareem Kwhydee Paul Russell and Akeem Rashad Russell were great sources of joy for her. YoYo later met and married Andre Pack in Colorado, where they lived for several years before relocating to New Jersey where she resided until the time of her passing.

Yokeema is preceded in death by her parents, Rosetta Russell and Jimmy Hill, and her grand parents.

Those left to cherish her memories: her two sons, Kareem Kwhydee Paul Russell and Akeem Russell of Cape Coral, FL; brother, Mandell Dequincy Russell of Colorado Springs, CO; two granddaughters, Kailani Pauline Russell and Kaelyn Keh'Lani Height; aunts, Doris Stanley (Steve) of Jesup, GA, Mildred Holt (Rickey) of Colorado Springs, CO, Vernia Andrews (Hayward) of Odum GA, Pamela Carr (Carl) of Holly Springs, NC; an uncle, Ulysses S. Squire (Jackie) of Claxton, GA; a niece in Newark, NJ; a nephew in Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous cousins and friends who will greatly miss her welcoming smile, infectious laughter and the joy her life exuded.

There will be a viewing on Saturday, October 01, 2022 (1 hour prior to services) from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm and a Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 pm at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545.
