Deloris Attaway, of Kingsland, Georgia, departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at Community Hospice & Palliative Care in Jacksonville, Florida.

Deloris was born in Brunswick, Georgia, to the late Benjamin Smith and Ola Mae Jordan Smith, on August 27, 1945. She was the third, of five daughters born to this union. Deloris was educated in the public school system of Camden County, graduating in 1963, from Ralph J. Bunche High School.

In 1966, Deloris married her one true love, Dean C. Attaway, Sr. This loving union brought forth five beautiful children: Vonda, Dean Jr., Bryan, Cris, and Dana. She worked for 21 years at Gilman Paper Company in St. Marys, Ga., and retired after working 10 years with Nassau County Board of Education.

She was a devoted member and appointed Church Mother of Wheeler Street Church of God, in St. Marys, Ga. Deloris loved to cook, sew, and spend time with family and friends. She cherished her time and phone calls with her best friend, the late Janie Jenkins, and two special sisters-in-law, Carolyn Attaway and Diane Vincent.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Ola Mae Smith, husband, Dean C. Attaway, Sr., sisters, Luvenia Brown (Isaiah), Mary E. Jones (Robert), Bennie Mae James, Jeanette Smith, and son-in-law, Joseph L. Pinkney, Sr.

Deloris is survived by her children, Vonda Perry (Keith) of Savannah, Ga., Dean Attaway, Jr.(Catina) of Kingsland, Ga., Bryan Attaway (Jenifer) of Kingsland, Ga., Cris Attaway (Melissa) of St. Marys, Ga., Dana Pinkney (Joseph) of Kingsland, Ga., and one godson, Anthony Lemons (Lynette) Little Rock, Ar.; Eighteen grandchildren, Ryan, Sherrica, Tierra, Keith, Dean III, Byran, Katlyn, Joseph Jr, Jared, Bryan Jr, Lauryn, Camryn, Ashland, Joshua, Donovan, Isaiah, Reece, and Kymbreah; six great-grandchildren, Brendyn, Melodie, Zariya, Omari, Hendrix, Mya, and Cassius.
